Election Day marks the release of “Luna Remix Collection”- the first in a series of small-run cassettes that SMR will be releasing. Actually, we sold a few already at a We Play Quiet show last night… they’re limited to 25 copies, and going fast!
The tapes are a three-way split between Fresnel Lens, Talking Backwards, and Ethan and Reid’s band, We Play Quiet, and cost five dollars. The bags are hand stenciled and sewn from some recycled t-shirts, and the cassettes are a lovely transparent yellow. Downloads of the songs will be available soon for buyers and nonbuyers alike.
And speaking of last night’s show, which the one-year anniversary of 1000 Words , We Play Quiet now has two additional members- Zach on bass, and Kale on saw.
Hello everybody. We're back.
We have a lot of interesting stuff planned for the next few months. In addition to getting the old catalog back online, there will be some new content as well. Free audio will be available for download… definitely from all of the “out of print” releases, and probably from most of our other ones as well.
Up-and-Coming Releases:
A series of four small-run cassette releases is in the works as the next main SMR project. The first will be a three-way split between Fresnel Lens, Talking Backwards and We Play Quiet. As with the rest of the cassette releases, they will be limited to a run of 25 and be on translucent yellow cassettes.
The second release of the series will be a P.R. Department discography. Details on the other two cassettes forthcoming.
And some final news: We Play Quiet is currently in the studio with Dhani Rosa, who is also in some pretty good bands.
